Learning French

Salut! La grande vieille dame What comes across your mind if you hear someone speaks French? For some, it's the sexy, romantic language of love. For others, it might be that rapid gibberish language with super inefficient orthography. Well the first opinion prevails in my country Indonesia. But this might rather be influenced by prevailing opinion imported from the West, as I doubt that many Indonesians who support this view could point out things associated with France other than Paris and the Eiffel Tower! Nevertheless the language is relatively popular here, especially among the younger generation. Aside from its unofficial status as the language of love, many consider the alien nasal sounds as 'sexy'. Unfortunately, while many Indonesians nowadays take basic French course offline and online, most quit after some time, as the Romance grammar is not something very pleasant to deal with when you're already struggling with English. Well, maybe that's

So yesterday, me and my two siblings, a brother-in-law, an aunt, and a cousin went to this restaurant called Bakerzin in Pondok Indah Mall for lunch. This restaurant focuses on general western food, and is part of a prominent chain called Boga Group. This place is also famous for their cakes. Beside Pondok Indah Mall, they also have outlets in some other malls, mostly located in South Jakarta. I ordered Holy Shiitake pasta, which looked like this (forgive my bad take): The name itself seems to be a pun on the popular interjection with the name of a mushroom used in the dish. It is actually linguine with mushrooms dressed in mushroom cream, drizzled with truffle oil, and topped with parmesan sheets. Now about linguine, I guess many of you, especially those who reside in big cities must be familiar with it. But I'm pretty sure in my hometown Medan, many people will consider that linguine is the same as spaghetti. Some will think it's the same as "fettuccini".

Hello After 10 Years!

Hi! Around five years ago, a good friend of mine suggested me to write down a blog. He said that I was very good at describing things (thanks mate!). I said yes but I was simply too lazy to do it. Fast forward to the present, I'm finally having some time and courage to realize the noble dream. Somehow, I recalled that some time before my friend's advice, I previously had written some sort of badly managed mental outbursts years ago. After trying a bit harder to remember the address, BOOM I found this place! 💥💥💥 Man, it's been TEN FUCKING YEARS have passed since my first post (and the second, which was also the last if you don't mind)! It's funny to reread my old posts. Turns out I didn't really write stuff, it's more of me taking huge chunk of Wikipedia article to the blog, before putting my short comment and then asking random people's opinion on the subject 😅. I know that was a bit absurd, but the two subjects about which I borrowed Wiki'

Ankhesenamun

From Wikipedia: " Ankhesenamen (b. Ankhesenpaaten, ca. 1348 – after 1324 B.C), which means She who lives through the Amun , was the third of six known daughters of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten and his Great Royal Wife Nefertiti . [1] Her youth is well documented in the ancient reliefs and paintings of the reign of her parents. She was probably born in year 4 of Akhenaten's reign and by year 12 of her father's reign she was joined by her three younger sisters. He made his wife his co-regent and had his family portrayed in a realistic style in all official artwork. She was the Great Royal Wife of at least two kings, her brother (or half-brother) Tutankhamum and his successor Ay . [2] She may have been the great royal wife of her father, Akhenaten , after the possible death of her mother and of his immediate successor, Smenkhkare who might have been her mother according to some scholars." For my part, I always have a sympathy towards this princess. The deat

Johann Sebastian Bach

From Wikipedia: " Johann Sebastian Bach ( pronounced [joˈhan/ˈjoːhan zeˈbastjan ˈbax] ) ( March 21 , 1685 O.S. – July 28 , 1750 N.S. ) was a prolific German composer and organist whose sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra, and solo instruments drew together the strands of the Baroque period and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he introduced no new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, a control of harmonic and motivic organisation from the smallest to the largest scales, and the adaptation of rhythms and textures from abroad, particularly Italy and France. Revered for their intellectual depth and technical and artistic beauty, Bach's works include the Brandenburg concertos ; the Goldberg Variations ; the English Suites , French Suites , Partitas , and Well-Tempered Clavier ; the Mass in B Minor ; the St Matthew Passion ; the St. John Passion ; The Musical Offering ; The Art of Fugue ; the Sonatas an
